BRIEF: 'Southside With You' trailer debuts

April 28--On a hot summer day in 1989, a "smooth-talking brother" asks his law office associate to join him for a community organizing event, plus a few stops en route. What happened next for the man referred to as "Barack O'What?" by the associate's father, and the "ice cream kind of girl" who isn't sure she blends easily with a guy who prefers pie?

Eight years in the White House, that's what. But that part's not in this movie. Here's the trailer for "Southside with You," writer-director Richard Tanne's fact-based chronicle of Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson's first date. Executive produced by Common, the movie was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and opens nationally Aug. 26.
