Woman held on $2 million in fatal stabbing of longtime boyfriend

May 11--A 50-year-old woman was ordered held in lieu of $2 million bail in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, who she had dated off and on for 10 years, prosecutors said.

Sherry L. Robinson, of the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the stabbing death, police said.

According to court documents, Robinson's boyfriend, Kimble Knox, 51, whom she has known for 20 years, was at her Kenwood neighborhood apartment watching movies. About 12:30 a.m., the couple got into a verbal argument that turned physical.

At some point, the couple went into the kitchen where Robinson stabbed Knox in the chest with a knife. She then dragged his body out a back door and onto a porch, according to prosecutors.

Robinson called 911 twice after the stabbing. The first time she reported a stranger was inside of her apartment, and the second time she said a robbery occurred on her porch, prosecutors said.

When police arrived, Knox was unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robinson was arrested and while being questioned, she admitted she had stabbed Knox, prosecutors said.

She was ordered held on $2 million at a bail hearing Tuesday afternoon and her next court date was scheduled for May 27.
