BRIEF: South Side native Craig Robinson to host 'Caraoke Showdown'

Feb. 04--South Side native Craig Robinson will host and executive produce the new game show "Caraoke Showdown," Spike TV reps announced Thursday.

Robinson will pose as a driver to pick up unsuspecting contestants who must sing their favorite tunes, finish the lyrics or act out songs for cash.

The half-hour special will debut later this year, network reps said. The announcement comes amid the popularity of James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" and Spike's "Lip Sync Battle."

Robinson, 44, recently starred in "Morris from America," which debuted last month at the Sundance Film Festival, and the NBC show "Mr. Robinson," which was canceled in September after six episodes.
