BRIEF: South Loop, Bronzeville residents warned of robberies

Oct. 30--Chicago police are warning South Loop and Bronzeville residents of robberies over the last couple of days.

In two instances, the robbers displayed a handgun and took cellphones, coats and credit cards from people on the street.

The first incident happened about 12:15 a.m. Monday in the 2100 block of South Wabash Street in the South Loop.

The second happened about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of South State Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Police described one attacker as a black man, 20 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall, with a dark complexion.

The second man was described as black, 25-30 years old, between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall with a medium complexion.

Police are asking anyone with any information about these robberies to call (312) 747-8380.
