BRIEF: South Korea race returns to Formula One in proposed 2015 calendar

Dec. 03--Formula One on Wednesday unveiled a 21-race schedule for 2015 that includes returning to South Korea.

The season would again start in Australia on March 15 and end with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Nov. 29.

The race in South Korea would be the fifth in the series, on May 3. South Korea was dropped from the schedule this year after hosting four races from 2010 through 2013.

Formula One's lone U.S. stop, at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, is scheduled for Oct. 25 next year.

The sport also plans to return to Mexico after more than two decades with a race Nov. 1 after the U.S. Grand Prix.

Formula One also announced some rules changes that included dropping the double points awarded this year at the Abu Dhabi season finale.

The double points were derided by four-time champion Sebastian Vettel and others who said the move compromised a full season's effort and Formula One's traditions.
