Jan. 07--Notre Dame might be bringing its spring football scrimmage to Soldier Field.
A university source told the Tribune on Tuesday that Soldier Field is a possibility to host the annual Blue-Gold game because of campus construction that will likely force the game out of Notre Dame Stadium.
The source added that nothing is final and that playing the game at Soldier Field is one of many contingency plans under consideration. 247Sports.com reported Soldier Field is the likely destination.
Soldier Field would make sense, given Notre Dame's large alumni base in Chicago. The Irish played Miami at Soldier Field in 2012 as part of their Shamrock Series of neutral-site games.
