BRIEF: Soap opera actress struck by car after Westside collision

Feb. 03--An actress on "The Bold and the Beautiful" was struck Monday afternoon by a car that drove onto a Westside sidewalk after a collision, police said.

Linsey Godfrey -- best known as Caroline Spencer Forrester on the CBS soap opera -- was taken to a hospital after the car drove onto a sidewalk at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Granville Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

About 2:25 p.m., two cars collided at the intersection in the Sawtelle neighborhood, causing one car to careen onto a sidewalk, where Godfrey was struck.

Godfrey's manager, Theo Swerissen, confirmed to The Times that the actress was hospitalized but that she was awake and talking. He was uncertain about the exact nature of her injuries.

The collision is under investigation, police said.
