BRIEF: 'Snowbird Bandit' robs third bank in southern Orange County

June 13--The "Snowbird Bandit" has struck again, robbing a third bank in three months in southern Orange County, the FBI said Friday.

In his latest robbery, which occurred Thursday, the aging, heavy-set bandit carried a white pouch with the word "medic," and demanded cash while brandishing a revolver.

He wore sunglasses and a baseball cap.

The Snowbird Bandit is believed to be white, in his late 50s, is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 180 to 200 pounds. He is the suspect in the following robberies:

On Thursday at the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 24471 Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo, next to the 5 Freeway.

On May 22 at the First Citizens Bank at 29818 Santa Margarita in Rancho Santa Margarita, near Highway 241.

On March 20 at the California Bank Trust at 24034 Camino del Avion in Monarch Beach, a neighborhood of Dana Point.

Anyone with information on the Snowbird Bandit is asked to call 911 or the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
