Nov. 15--Freezing weather and snow is still in the forecast for this weekend.
Snow is expected to start falling in the Rockford area around 5 or 6 p.m. Saturday, reaching the Chicago area by about 6 or 7 p.m., said National Weather Service meteorologist Jamie Enderlen.
Weather forecasters predict the majority of snow to fall by midnight, with the Chicagoland area getting about 1 inch of snow, Enderlen said. Temperatures are going to be in lower 30s throughout the day.
Sunday morning and afternoon may bring additional light flurries but likely nothing measurable, Enderlen said. Temperatures are supposed to be in the low to mid 30s throughout that day.
Beginning of the week still promises to be even colder than the weekend. On Monday and Tuesday, high temperatures are expected to reach the mid 20s, Enderlen said.
