BRIEF: Small fire reported on Red Line

May 01--CTA officials briefly rerouted Red Line trains following a small rubbish fire on the Red Line's subway tracks.

A small trash fire broke out Friday morning on the Red Line's subway tracks in the 1200 block of North Clark Street.

Trains were briefly rerouted to elevated tracks between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stations, according to a CTA alert.

About 8 a.m., normal service through the subway tracks had resumed, and officials were saying to allow extra time for travel due to delays.
