BRIEF: Small brush fire in Elysian Park doused after creating traffic jam

Oct. 30--A brush fire in Elysian Park early Friday led to the closure of at least two northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway, but they were reopened after the blaze was doused.

The fire broke out shortly before 5 a.m. on a hill not far from Dodger Stadium and was put out at 7 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The California Highway Patrol had closed at least two northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway, resulting in a sluggish morning for commuters headed to Pasadena.

The brush fire came as weather forecasters warn of continued strong Santa Ana winds.

A red flag warning is in effect for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties from early morning through the evening.

Winds are expected to diminish throughout the day.
