BRIEF: Sky sign Jessica Breland to one-year deal

Feb. 19--The Sky found an unexpected gem in Jessica Breland when they signed the Indiana Fever castoff in March. On Thursday, they recognized the first-time All-Star's contributions to last summer's WNBA Finals run with a one-year deal.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Breland will be a restricted free agent after the season.

"I'm thrilled Jessica will continue this journey with us," Sky coach and general manager Pokey Chatman said in a statement. "She immediately made a positive impact on both ends of the floor, garnering All-Star honors, but more importantly she helped us contend for a title. I'm looking forward to her continued growth."

Breland represents the Sky's fourth personnel move in the last two weeks. The team re-signed Courtney Vandersloot and Tamera Young, and traded Epiphanny Prince for Chicago native Cappie Pondexter.
