May 05--Skate America will return to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates this fall.
U.S. Figure Skating announced Thursday that the competition will be Oct. 21-23.
The 2015 event was held in Milwuakee.
Skate America was at the Sears Centre in 2014, where officials say it drew more than 17,000 spectators over three days of competition.
"We are excited to return to the Chicago area for this prestigious international competition," U.S. Figure Skating President Sam Auxier said in a statement. "The support of the skating community and the fans in 2014 made our decision to return an easy one."
The event features three days of competition in ladies, men's, pairs and ice dance.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale June 3.
