BRIEF: Police car's windshield shattered by rock on Dan Ryan

Oct. 27--Police say a rock, not gunfire as initially thought, shattered a Chicago police car's windshield late Monday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway near 63rd Street.

The car was southbound on I-94 when it was damaged, according to Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond.

Earlier, police said the windshield may have been hit by a bullet. But Bond said police later determined the car was hit by a rock.

No injuries were reported.
