BRIEF: Shootings leave 2 wounded in separate incidents

Jan. 09--A man and a teen were shot in separate South and Southwest side shootings Thursday, according to police.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the 5500 block of South Christiana Avenue about 4:25 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. He was found by police and paramedics not far from the scene, in the 5500 block of South Kedzie Avenue.

Earlier in the day, a 22-year-old man was shot in the 6800 block of South Damen Avenue.

He and another person were standing on the street when someone fired from inside a vehicle that had pulled alongside them, police said.

The 22-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and is being treated for a leg wound.

No one is in custody for either shooting, and detectives are investigating.
