BRIEF: Shooting death of woman at Hillside hotel ruled accidental

July 28--The shooting death of a woman Sunday morning at a Hillside hotel was ruled accidental by the Cook County medical examiner's office Monday.

The woman, 51, of Cincinnati, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at a Best Western, 4500 N. Frontage Road in the western suburb, according to the medical examiner's office. It was determined that the woman died of a gunshot wound to the chest, and her death was ruled accidental after an autopsy Monday, according to the office.

Police were called to the hotel at 10:54 a.m. for a call requesting police assistance, Hillside police Chief Joseph Lukaszek said Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had suffered one gunshot wound.

Hillside police were working with the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force to investigate the death, Lukaszek said Sunday.
