BRIEF: Several ex-Bears on College Football Hall of Fame ballot

June 01--Several former Chicago Bears are on the 2017 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The National Football Foundation and the hall of fame announced Wednesday the 75 players and sox coaches from the FBS, as well as 95 players and 29 coaches from the divisional ranks who are nominated.

The final 2017 class willl be announced on Jan. 6, 2017. The ballot was emailed this week to the more than 12,000 NFF members and current Hall of Famers.

Among the former Chicago Bears (and the college they attended) on the ballot: Mark Carrier (USC), Dan Hampton (Arkansas), Craig Heyward (Pitt), Ron Rivera (California), Rashaan Salaam (Colorado) and Brian Urlacher (New Mexico).

Other notable players on the ballot are: Moe Gardner (Illiinois), Dana Howard (Illinois), Simeon Rice (Illinois), Bob Crable (Notre Dame), Raghib "Rocket" Ismail (Notre Dame), Aaron Taylor (Notre Dame) and Antwaan Randle El (Indiana).
