Dec. 16--Seth Meyers and Andy Samberg are good friends but the "Late Night with Seth Meyers" host said Tuesday that the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star probably won't be babysitting his child.
"I feel like (Samberg) is one of my truest, dearest friends but I think, like, baby responsible? Maybe not," Meyers said on "Watch What Happens Live" after a caller on the show asked which of Meyers' former "Saturday Night Live" castmates he would not ask to babysit.
Meyers, an Evanston native and Northwestern University alumnus, said he frequently texts Samberg, who portrayed Mayor Rahm Emanuel on "SNL." Meyers said sometimes he will message Samberg just the title of his sketches he felt didn't go well.
"He'll just write back like, 'Please leave me alone about this,'" Meyers said.
News broke in November that Meyers, 41, and wife Alexi Ashe are expecting their first child. The couple married in 2013 on Martha's Vineyard.
"Late Night" airs weeknights on NBC at 11:35 p.m. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns to Fox Jan. 5 at 8 p.m.
