March 15--"Late Night" host Seth Meyers wanted to take his love for his alma mater Northwestern University to another level -- but Kanye West ruined it.
"I'm just bummed that Kanye took my name," Meyers joked to People magazine in a story posted online Monday. "Until he did it, North West probably would have been just the full first name."
West's wife Kim Kardashian gave birth to their daughter North West in June 2013. Meyers' wife Alexi Ashe is pregnant with the couple's first child.
"I'm most looking forward to seeing who it looks like, that's the first thing out of the gate," Meyers said about the impending birth. "Although... a lot of people have said my wife and I look alike, so I think that's the one thing we know, is that the child will look like us. If not, there's a real problem."
Meyers, 42, is set to speak at Northwestern's commencement ceremony in June and receive an honorary degree.
"Late Night" airs 11:35 p.m. weeknights on NBC.
