BRIEF: Service resumes on CTA Red Line after 'medical emergency'

May 13--Service has resumed on the CTA Red Line after trains were rerouted Wednesday morning because of a "medical emergency" involving a person on the tracks near Lake Street, officials said.

Police received a report about the person shortly before 9:20 a.m. According to the CTA website, all Red Line subway trains were rerouted to the elevated lines between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stations because of the medical emergency.

As of 10:30 a.m., service had resumed on the subway tracks.
