May 20--A second Marine from the Camp Pendleton-based 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit has died from injuries in Sunday's aircraft crash during training in Hawaii.
Three Marines remain in the hospital in stable condition, the Marine Corps announced.
The name of the second Marine killed in the crash of the tilt-rotor MV-22B Osprey was not immediately released.
The first Marine to die was identified as Lance Cpl. Joshua Barron, 24, of Spokane, Wash. He was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar before deploying with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
The crash occurred at Bellows Air Force Base in Waimanalo on the island of Oahu. The unit was training before deploying to the Western Pacific and the Persian Gulf.
"We will continue our training and we remain focused on ensuring that the MEU is fully prepared and postured as our nation's global-response force," said Col. Vance Cryer, commanding officer of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
