BRIEF: SEC preview: Alabama vs. Florida

Dec. 05--SEC championship game

TV: 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta; CBS-2

Line: Alabama by 18.5.

Records: Alabama 11-1, 7-1 SEC; Florida 10-2, 7-1.

Last meeting: Alabama won 42-21 on Sept. 20, 2014, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

On the offensive: After Derrick Henry rushed 46 times for 271 yards against Auburn, Alabama QB Jake Coker called him "a machine." The Gators have an elite run defense, allowing 3.3 yards per try.

Getting defensive: The Crimson Tide's run "D" is even stronger -- second nationally at 2.5 yards per tote. Alabama's pass defense also is superb, with 12 touchdowns allowed compared with 14 interceptions.

The number: 2. Points Florida scored in its last game, a 27-2 waxing by Florida State. The Gators gained just 262 yards in 79 plays (3.3 average).

The talk: The over-under is 39.5, meaning the oddsmakers have the Gators scoring barely more than 10 points. This game has the makings of a snoozefest.

Teddy Greenstein's pick: The Gators are really the best the SEC East could offer? Alabama 31, Florida 6.
