May 10--The Chicago Cubs came away with a three-game sweep last week at Pittsburgh, and Anthony Rizzo was credited with another hit from that series.
Major League Baseball, after reviewing a formal request from the Cubs, took away an error charged to Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen and credited Rizzo with a single in the third inning of a 6-2 victory at PNC Park on May 4.
With the change, Rizzo finished the series with an 8-for-14 performance against the Pirates. The hit raises Rizzo's batting average to .279.
McCutchen left his feet in an attempt to catch Rizzo's knuckling drive, only to have the ball carom out of his glove as he landed hard on the center field grass.
