BRIEF: San Pedro fire burns two homes; 133 firefighters on scene

April 18--More than 130 Los Angeles firefighters responded to a residential fire that burned two homes and vegetation in a San Pedro neighborhood on Friday, officials said.

A helicopter helped firefighters battle the blaze, which took less than an hour to get under control. The fire broke out shortly after 5 p.m. in the 700 block of West Oliver Street, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

There were no reports of injuries, and no formal evacuation order was issued, Humphrey said.

Earlier in the day, a three-alarm fire burned in Malibu near Kanan Dume Road and Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Another brush fire burned 10 acres off the 91 Freeway in Santa Ana Canyon.
