April 30--San Diego police shot and killed a knife-wielding man who had reportedly been threatening to kill a clerk at an X-rated bookstore and strip club in the Midway area, officials said.
Police received a call shortly after midnight from the clerk at the Body Shop about a man threatening to kill him.
Arriving within minutes, police confronted a man with a knife outside the business, officials said, and he refused police commands to drop the weapon.
An officer fired at least once. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The dead man was described only as 42 years old. The officer's name was not released.
