BRIEF: Ryan Poli launching dinner series at Jam

Sept. 21--Chef Ryan Poli, remembered by many as executive chef at Tavernita, Barcito and Little Market Brasserie (and for foodies of a certain age, Perennial and Jason Chan's Butter) has spent the past two years cooking around the world, learning and growing and basically getting his culinary groove back.

He's back in town and next month will launch a dinner series, called "Jam at Night," at Logan Square's Jam restaurant (3057 W. Logan Blvd).

"I just want to have some fun, cook food I learned on my travels and not take ourselves too seriously," Poli said.

Initially there will be three dinners, taking place 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 1, 2 and 3. Poli will create a six-course menu, matched to beverages by mixologist Erin Hayes of Lost Lake.

Cost for the dinner is $107; beverages are $48. Price includes tax and fees. Tickets are available via eventbrite.com.

Will this be a three-and-out pop-up or...?

"As for now, we're just focusing on the three dinners," Poli said. "If we're having fun and the guests are digging (it), we may do more."
