BRIEF: Russian hockey player scores amazing goal at KHL All-Star game

Jan. 26--The NHL wasn't the only major hockey league that held its All-Star game this past weekend. In Russia, the Kontinental Hockey League held its annual all-star summit along with the compulsory skills competition.

Though the Russians didn't have any pucks register 108 mph on the radar gun, they did witness arguably one of the most spectacular penalty-shot goals ever scored.

Khanty-Mansiysk Yugra forward Nikita Gusev, who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2012, scored a stunning between-the-legs trick goal that included a 360-degree spin and a lacrosse-like finish that needs to watched a least half a dozen times to be appreciated.

Sure, we'll probably never see a goal like this during an actual game, but it's good to see a trick play that actually results in a goal.

Perhaps next time, Gusev can follow countryman Alex Ovechkin's lead and dress up a little more for the occasion.
