Nov. 30--The fallout from Russia's doping scandal continued Monday with five of the country's accused athletes headed to international arbitration.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport announced it will hear the cases of Sergey Bakulin, Valeriy Borchin, Vladimir Kanaikin, Olga Kaniskina and Sergey Kirdyapkin this week.
All face bans over accusations that they used performance-enhancing drugs.
Also on Monday, a government official said the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, or RUSADA, will be overhauled rather than disbanded.
The agency has been implicated in reports of an orchestrated doping scheme that allegedly involved athletes, coaches, team doctors and top officials with the Russian track and field federation.
"No doubt, RUSADA will remain as an organization," Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko told the Tass news agency.
Mutko said Russia continues to work with the World Anti-Doping Agency on a series of reforms. The country is hoping to have the suspension on its track federation -- and all of its track athletes -- lifted before the 2016 Summer Olympics.
