BRIEF: Russell Wilson on contract: 'God's going to ... put me where he wants'

June 23--Russell Wilson seems to be willing to leave his contract situation in God's hands.

It's not all that surprising for a guy who tweets Bible verses on a regular basis, but maybe a little worrisome for Seattle Seahawks fans who were already getting nervous about their Super Bowl-winning quarterback's contract status after this season.

"At the end of the day I trust the process," Wilson said Monday on 99.9 the Fan in Raleigh, N.C., about his contract negotiations with the Seahawks. "I know God's going to take me and put me where he wants to have me. I hope that's Seattle. I love it there, it's a great place.

"But I've gone through the ups and downs and been moved around before. I loved NC State and loved playing there and then having to go somewhere else and start new."

Wilson played three years for the Wolfpack before transferring to Wisconsin, where he was allowed to play minor league baseball during the off-season.

Wilson, who has one year left on his rookie contract, seems to be saying he's willing to make a similar move as a pro if necessary.
