BRIEF: Rory McIlroy still struggling at WGC-Cadillac Championship

March 06--After a disappointing first round at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, Rory McIlroy was hoping to kick-start his game on Friday.

So far, that isn't happening.

The world's No. 1 golfer played the first nine holes of the second round at par, remaining at one-over for the tournament, well down the leaderboard.

Through midday at Trump National Doral -- the "Blue Monster" -- J.B. Holmes still led by a comfortable margin at 9-under, several shots better than a pack that included Ryan Moore, Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson.

McIlroy launched his U.S. season last week, missing the cut at the Honda Classic. Despite expressing confidence about his play in practice, he has yet to perform when it counts.

"I don't feel like it's that far away," he said after the first round. "That's the frustrating thing."
