Nov. 18--A long-running lawsuit against his former management company has Rory McIlroy feeling "annoyed," but the world's top-ranked golfer says he is trying to focus on finishing the season with a bang.
Speaking to reporters before the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, McIlroy talked about spending too much time with attorneys.
"Of course I'm annoyed it's still going on," he said. "The last week or so, I really put my head down and focused on my golf and everything like that."
McIlroy split with Horizon in 2013 and has subsequently challenged the terms of his contract with the management company. The suit includes allegations that Horizon gave preferential treatment to Graeme McDowell, McIlroy's friend and Ryder Cup teammate.
Legal distractions did not seem to hinder the golfer from Northern Ireland this season as he charged to victories in the British Open, PGA Championship and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Having already won the PGA Tour's player of the year award and the Race to Dubai, he now finishes up at the European Tour's finale.
"Still very motivated to go out there this week and perform well," he said, adding: "It would be nice to cap off the season with another win here."
