BRIEF: Robbers hit same 7-Eleven store in Loop five times

Jan. 06--Police are warning businesses in the Loop after robbers hit the same 7-Eleven store five times in December.

The five robberies took place at the 7-Eleven store in the first block of North Wells Street between 1:30 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. on Dec. 23, Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 28 and Dec. 30, according to an alert issued by Chicago police.

In each robbery, three men entered the store. One of them stood by the door as a lookout and directed the sales clerk not to move or make any calls, according to the alert.

The two other men filled their backpacks with food, cartons of cigarettes and liquor, police said.

The alert described the robbers only as black and 18 to 22 years old.

Anyone with information can contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8384.
