BRIEF: Riot Fest announces 2016 dates, return to Douglas Park

Nov. 23--Riot Fest will be held Sept. 16-18 in Chicago and early-bird tickets will go on sale Tuesday, festival organizers announced Monday.

The three-day punk rock festival will again be held in Douglas Park, organizers said. The West Side park hosted the festival in September after a Humboldt Park area alderman said the 10-year-old festival was not welcome to return to Humboldt Park this year.

Tickets for the 2016 festival are slated to go on sale at 11 a.m. via Ticketfly. Three-day passes will start at $99.98, according to organizers.

After Riot Fest in September, the two aldermen who represent Douglas Park said they would be willing to entertain them coming back to the park.

No Doubt, Modest Mouse, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg were among the artists who performed at Riot Fest this year. Riot Fest announced that lineup in May.
