BRIEF: 'Ride the Cyclone' heading to New York

May 10--"Ride the Cyclone," which opened in a well-received production at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in October 2015, will be a part of MCC Theater's upcoming season in New York.

The original musical written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell follows a youth chamber choir in the aftermath of a death-by-roller-coaster accident, as the members all compete for a chance to return to the living realm.

The New York production will be directed by Rachel Rockwell, who directed the Chicago Shakespeare production, and will run Nov. 9-Dec. 18.

Watch a song from the Chicago Shakespeare production above, featuring Tiffany Tatreau as the overachieving, self-absorbed afterlife pop star Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg as she campaigns to win the life-or-death contest.
