May 12--Riot Fest will begin rolling out its 2016 lineup Thursday by announcing that the reunited Misfits will perform at the festival Sept. 16-18 in Douglas Park, as well as in Denver (Sept. 2-4).
The Misfits will perform with original singer and songwriter Glenn Danzig for the first time since 1983. Danzig will join bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein. The band, which formed in New Jersey in 1977, merged horror-movie lyrics and imagery with terse, anthemic punk melodies.
A complete lineup for the festival is expected in the next few weeks. Tickets for the annual festival ($149.98 for a three-day pass) are on sale now at riotfest.org.
