July 21--Illinois State Police shut down westbound Interstate 290 near 25th Avenue in Maywood after someone reported a man firing a gun from a car on the expressway, according to authorities.
The lanes were reopened by about 6:35 p.m., police said. No evidence of a shooting was found.
The call came in between about 5:20 and 5:30 p.m., police said.
State troopers shut down the Eisenhower Expressway to look for shell casings.
