BRIEF: Reena Ninan named co-anchor of ABC's 'America This Morning' and 'World News Now'

April 08--Reena Ninan has been named co-anchor of ABC's overnight and early morning news programs.

Ninan has filled in for several months on "World News Now" and "America This Morning" alongside co-anchor T.J. Holmes. She now has both jobs, according to a memo ABC News President James Goldston sent to staffers Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Ninan began her career at ABC News in 2012 as a correspondent in the Washington, D.C., bureau. Her reporting included traveling with President Obama to Asia and with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to the Middle East. She reported on the aftermath of the Moore, Okla., tornado and the final weeks of Nelson Mandela's life.

Before joining ABC, she had been a Middle East correspondent for Fox News since 2007.
