Aug. 14--Say what you will about Redmoon, quitters they are not. The Great Chicago Fire Festival -- that high-profile fizzle for the theater in its inaugural year in 2014 on the Chicago River -- is back this year; community events began in June and will culminate in a headliner 2015 Fire Fest Sept. 26 at Northerly Island. Yes, including the burning of a house.
As part of the ramp-up, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. this Saturday at Ping Tom Park in Chinatown is a Summer Gathering -- with free performances by the Ling Ling Dance Company, Happiness Club, The Remedy A Cappela singers, Aerial Dance Chicago and Actors Gymnasium, and Ballet Folklorico Xochitl.
