May 09--An empty storefront that used to house Giordano's in Evanston is about to be filled by a new restaurant, according to The Daily Northwestern. Owner Ramakant Kharel, who also runs nearby Mt. Everest Restaurant, recently got approval for the new project at 500 Davis St., where he plans to serve a fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine. He hopes to open in late summer.
Thing is, the name Kharel chose for the restaurant might sound a little familiar: Red Hot Chili Pepper. Add an "s" on the end and suddenly you have a constantly shirtless man named Flea slapping his bass, while Anthony Kiedis jumps around spouting more references to California than a rerun of "Laguna Beach." How long this name lasts before some lawyers get involved is anyone's guess, but I'm doubtful that the band would just give it away.
