BRIEF: Receiver Javon McKinley picks Notre Dame football

Jan. 09--Receiver Javon McKinley took off his football helmet and put on a Notre Dame baseball cap Saturday, signifying his college choice during the fourth quarter of the U.S. Army All-American Game.

McKinley chose the Irish over Washington and Oregon.

McKinley is a 6-foot-2, 194-pounder visited South Bend, Ind., three times. The four-star recruit from Corona (Calif.) Centennial had 152 catches for 3,235 yards and 37 touchdowns during his junior and senior season. He is the Irish's 22nd commitment from the Class of 2016.

McKinley is 18th-ranked receiver in the country and 117th prospect overall, according to 247.sports.com's composite rankings. He is the third receiver from the Class of 2016 to orally commit to the Irish.
