Ravinia has ticket woes as sales start, and rep blames credit card processor

April 26--Music fans trying to snag entry into Ravinia encountered difficulties paying for their tickets, which went on sale at 5 a.m. Tuesday, as the firm that processes credit cards for the Highland Park festival's website experienced a technical issue.

"Authorize.net assures us that everything is normal and indeed we are back to processing thousands of transactions per second. We want to thank everyone for their patience and remind them not to log off or they will lose their place in line," Ravinia Director of Communications Nick Pullia said in a statement at 6:55 a.m.

Pullia said Ravina's ticket software provider is only compatible with Authorize.net, but the software provider is working to expand its options.

Meanwhile, tickets for Paul Simon's Ravinia debut on June 18 and Train's Aug. 27 concert with Andy Grammer quickly sold out Tuesday.

Ravinia is scheduled to run June 2 to Sept. 17. Performances by Bob Dylan, Diana Ross and Dolly Parton are among the 140-plus scheduled concerts and events.
