BRIEF: Rain, possible thunderstorms in store for Mother's Day

May 10--Mother Nature has rain in store Sunday for much of the Chicago area.

Steady rainfall should last until about noon with isolated showers predicted for Sunday afteroon, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms are expected to hit south of Interstate 80, with the strongest chance of storms coming Sunday evening. Those storms could bring hail, wind gust of up to 60 miles per hour and heavy rainfall, according to the weather service.

Temperatures in the 40s Sunday morning should warm to a high near 60 degrees for the Chicago area. Lows Sunday should dip to the lower 50s before rising into the 70s on Monday.
