BRIEF: Purple Express, Brown Line trains delayed by power outage

June 12--CTA Purple Line Express and Brown Line trains were delayed Friday morning because of a power outage.

Purple Line Express trains were temporarily suspended, and Loop-bound Brown Line trains were rerouted at Merchandise Mart, according to CTA alerts.

As of 7:30 a.m., all service had been restored, said CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase.

She said it's unclear yet what caused the loss of power, which lasted less than an hour.

Residual delays were expected to remain during the morning rush hour.
