BRIEF: Prosecutors: Woman sprayed Menards guard with dog repellent

Jan. 05--A West Pullman woman was ordered placed on electronic monitoring Sunday after prosecutors said she sprayed dog repellent in the face of a security guard who had stopped her for suspected theft at a Homewood hardware store.

Felicia Y. Tyler, 45, was stopped by security Saturday at the Menards in Homewood, in the 17500 block of South Halsted Street, according to Cook County court records.

After security detained her, Tyler sprayed the employee in the face with "dog repellent," or tear gas, court records state.

Tyler, of the 12600 block of South Stewart Avenue, is charged with felony aggravated battery and retail theft in the incident, according to court records.
