Oct. 26--A Pennsylvania woman arrested at Chicago's Union Station with more than $320,000 worth of drugs appeared for a bond hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building on Sunday facing four felony counts of drug possession, according to prosecutors.
Michelle Ramos, 25, stood stone-faced as prosecutors detailed the copious amounts of illegal drugs she was found with as she waited to board an Amtrak train bound for Erie, Pa., where she lives, according to court documents.
"Officers recovered 2.5 kilos of cocaine," according to a prosecutor.
Cook County Judge James Brown interrupted, "Kilos?"
"Yes, judge, estimated at $307,500" the prosecutor continued. "Fifty grams of heroin, one pound of cannabis and 99 pills of Ecstasy."
Ramos was arrested by a joint narcotics team consisting of officers from Evanston and Chicago police departments.
Brown set Ramos' bond at $75,000. Her next court date is scheduled for Nov. 10.
