BRIEF: Project seeks veterans to share wartime experiences for posterity

Feb. 24--American Legion Post 133 in Huntington Beach will be participating in the Veterans History Project, which involves documenting stories of people's time in the military during war.

The project, commissioned by the U.S. Congress, was started in 2000 to record and archive veterans' experiences of war so that future generations can hear their firsthand accounts. The Library of Congress archives the recordings. The footage will be available to the public six months after filming.

The project is looking for veterans from World War I to the Iraq war.

Anyone interested in sharing their military stories can contact American Legion officer Jim Seiler at (714) 698-8132.
