BRIEF: Preview: Northwestern at Nebraska

Oct. 23--TV/radio: 11 a.m. Saturday; ESPN2, WGN-AM 720.

Line: Nebraska by 7.

Records: Northwestern 5-2, 1-2 Big Ten; Nebraska 3-4, 1-2.

Last meeting: Nebraska won 38-17 on Oct. 18, 2014, in Evanston.

On the offensive: Sophomore Justin Jackson needs 122 rushing yards to become the 10th NU player to eclipse 2,000 in his career. Damien Anderson holds the record with 4,485 (1998-2001).

Getting defensive: The Wildcats were outscored 78-10 in the last two games, raising major concerns. Sophomore CB Keith Watkins II, starting in place of injured Matthew Harris last week, recorded nine tackles (eight solo).

The number: 345. Consecutive sellouts at Nebraska's Memorial Stadium dating to Nov. 2,1962.

The talk: The Wildcats are trying to regain the early mojo that vaulted them to 13th in the nation after a 5-0 start. A win at Nebraska would make them bowl-eligible and revive hopes of making this a special season.

Fred Mitchell's pick: Northwestern has not fared well against the Cornhuskers (2-6 all time). Three of the four meetings since Nebraska joined the Big Ten were decided by three points or fewer. Nebraska 27, Northwestern 20.
