BRIEF: 'Pressurization issue' forces Denver-bound plane back to O'Hare

Feb. 03--A United Airlines flight bound for Denver returned to Chicago on Tuesday morning after a "pressurization issue" caused some passengers to complain of nausea and ear pain, officials said.

United Flight 1218 landed back at O'Hare International Airport shortly before 10 a.m. and paramedics checked out the 174 passengers and seven crew members, officials said. No one was taken to a hospital, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

United spokeswoman Karen May said the plane experienced a "pressurization issue" shortly after taking off around 8:40 a.m.

At least six ambulances greeted the plane at the airport. The Fire Department said people aboard were being checked for ear pain and nausea.
