BRIEF: President Obama to Canadian prime minister: 'Where's the Stanley Cup?'

March 10--President Barack Obama has this hockey chirping thing down pat.

Obama took time out of his day to tease -- or chirp in hockey in hockey parlance -- Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau about the Chicago Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup during Trudeau's official state visit to the White House on Thursday.

When discussing the differences between Canada and the United States, Obama mentioned that there are things "we will probably never agree on," like which country's beer is better.

And then Obama hit Trudeau and Canada where it hurts the most.

"Who is better at hockey?" Obama said as Trudeau shook his head. "Where is the Stanley Cup right now? I'm sorry, is it in my hometown with the Chicago Blackhawks? In case you Canadians were wondering, 'Where is it?' "

With none of the seven Canadian-based NHL teams currently holding a playoff spot, Trudeau likely wasn't wondering. The Blackhaws have won the Cup three times in the past six seasons. The last Canadian team to win the Cup was Montreal in 1993.
