April 09--Potbelly has named a new chief financial officer.
Michael Coyne, who most recently was senior vice president of small business at CNA Financial, will step into the role May 1, the sandwich chain said in a statement Wednesday.
In his new role, Coyne will oversee all financial functions and also will be charged with improving Potbelly's analytical, productivity and risk assessment capabilities.
A certified public accountant who began his career at Ernst Young, Coyne's LinkedIn profile also shows he was a vice president and treasurer at Sears Holdings for a year in 2004. He began his career in 1985.
Coyne replaces Charles Talbot, who stepped down in March to become chief financial officer at Athletico Physical Therapy.
